Coronavirus (COVID-19)

10 Jul 2020

Face Masks

We have been told homemade face masks do not help stop the COVID-19 virus. This is true, the virus particles are so small they will pass through anything you can breathe through. However, they will reduce your risk of being infected in two ways:

1) They will stop you breathing in larger particles that could be carrying the virus

2) The will help stop you transferring the virus from your hands by touching your face

Masks are easy to make yourself. Two videos: For the experts or for the novices.

If you use a mask follow these simple rules:

1) Wash your hands after taking it off or touching it

2) After using it do not touch it for at least another 3 days

3) Or give it wash in soapy water (washing up liquid will do)

The Parish Council is coordinating support and help during this difficult time. Please register as somebody who is able to offer help or if you would like somebody to help you.
When you register, please make sure you add your telephone number and address so we can contact you.

You can ask questions and share answers using the questions bulletin board, or contact the Parish Council coordinator directly.
